ABOUT THE AREA
Polop is an idyllic villages on the Costa Blanca coast. Nestled amidst the well-known coastal and majestic mountain ranges surrounding the Marina Baixa district, the village lies on a hilltop in beautiful, scenic surroundings, surrounded by almond and orange groves overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. At the same time, the place has retained its typical Spanish character, with narrow cobblestone streets, cosy outdoor restaurants, fruit- and vegetable markets, and a warm and charming atmosphere.
Polop is a picturesque village with just over 4500 inhabitants, but until 1899 it was an important barony, which included the famous villages of La Nucia, Alfaz del Pi and Benidorm. Polop is famous for its fertile soil and its many natural water sources. In one of the inviting squares one will find 221 cranes with flowing drinking water, which are said to have healing powers.
Polop has modern infrastructure with good roads leading you to the coast in about 10 minutes. There are several local supermarkets, and larger supermarkets and centres on the outskirts of the village.
The area is also known for its great conditions for rock climbing, and short distance to several golf courses!
